Falling in love

Imagine being hit in the head with a volleyball while playing at the beach on a sunny day.

Sudden and shocking. A bit jarring. Blinding for a moment when the colors seem distorted, more shimmery. And then your head rights itself and you see clearly again.

Perhaps your skin feels tingly as though you had fallen on the sand and are brushing the rough particles off. Maybe your heart races because of the unexpectedness of the feeling. 

It might even be momentarily frightening. Like when you spot a shark fin near where everyone is swimming. Heart racing; then you see it’s simply one of those silly children’s suits that first time parents find so amusing to stick a hapless child in and let loose in the waves.

Just a blip of fear, uncertainty, figuring what it is and then you realize…you've been hit over the head by love.

It's easy. It happens TO you - whether you want it or not. The challenge is what happens next.
